Museo de la Rama stands out by a unique feature: it is the first museum in the Canary Islands trying to provide an insight into an event, more precisely, a religious event held in great respect in Gran Canaria: Our Virgin of Las Nieves. The museum does not necessary enjoy a huge popularity. On the contrary, it is a little known cultural edifice located in Agaete, and one might easily say the event it depicts and explains exceeds, by far, the fame of the museum. And, indeed, the holiday of Our Virgin of Las Nieves has been declared a national tourist interest event, as an ascertainment of its popularity and force to appeal to visitors, thus enhancing the tourist platform of Gran Canaria.
